Living Life Thankful

For all [these] things are for your sake, so that as [God’s remarkable, undeserved] grace reaches to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of [our great] God.”

2 Corinthians 4:15 AMP

If you are a Believer in Jesus, the spreading of God‘s grace through sharing the gospel is the first & foremost way to receive gratitude in your heart. The Holy Spirit’s indwelling of gratitude is spiritual. When you’re talking about Him & sharing your testimony, God things happen. Sharing Jesus can’t help but make you sense His presence. He is nothing but good & in turn this produces thankfulness.

In everyday life, your actions are expressions of thankfulness. People can tell just by your countenance that you have something different & special. Here are a few expressions to look for & cultivate in your own life.

Saying It Out Loud

Thankfulness loves to talk. It shows up when you say “thank you” for the hundredth time — for the Pumpkin Spice Latte someone brought you, the door they held when you were running late, or the hilarious text that made you 😂. It shows up in your prayers too, when you pause and tell God, “Wow, I really needed that today.” Gratitude can’t help but notice the good stuff — and it loves sharing it.

Smiling for No Reason

Ever notice that thankful people just look happier? That’s because gratitude flips the script. Instead of lamenting about what’s missing, you start spotting what’s good. Suddenly that disaster in the kitchen looks like “proof we had a fun dinner,” and the long drive in terrible traffic becomes “time to listen to my favorite music.” Gratitude has a way of turning blah days into something worth smiling about.

Giving It Away

Here’s where you can slay the day: a thankful heart loves to share. You find yourself leaving little encouraging notes for friends, bringing someone Chick-fil-A “just because,” or helping your neighbor before anyone asks. Gratitude makes you want to give — not out of obligation, but because you can’t keep the good vibes to yourself.

Finding the Good Even When It’s Hard

Thankfulness is also surprisingly tough. It can sit with you through the hard stuff and still whisper, “There’s good here somewhere.” It reminds you to look for the good it didn’t notice before. It’s not about faking happy — it’s about holding on even when things aren’t perfect. Remember God’s plan is to always prosper you, not to harm you, to give you hope and a future! (Jeremiah 29:11)

When thankfulness gets loud in your life, everything feels a little brighter. You talk about good things, you don’t point out differences — but instead your motivation is unity, you share more freely, and you find hope when you need it most. Gratitude & the expression of it—thankfulness, doesn’t just stay inside — it shines bright and as a result (and most importantly), it glorifies God. Get Loud for Jesus and little by little see thankfulness take root in your life!
