Thank God for the Little Things

“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

Colossians 3:17 NIV

Sometimes we get so caught up looking for the big, life-changing moments that we forget how much God is doing through the small seemingly unimportant things in life. Things like a sunny morning, a random encouraging text from a friend, or even just finding a good parking spot when you’re running late.

These little moments may not seem like a big deal, but they’re actually beautiful reminders that God is with us in the everyday. He’s not just showing up in the big miracles—He’s in the quiet, intimate moments too.

When we start to thank Him for those little things, our whole mindset shifts. We begin to notice just how miraculous He really is. The Bible says, “Every good and perfect gift is from above” (James 1:17)—and that includes the cup of coffee that is just what you needed, something sweet when you feel like you’re running low on energy, a smile from a stranger, the breeze that makes you pause and breathe a little deeper, or an encouraging word at just the right time.

Pause today and look around and then think about your whole life. There has always been something to thank Him for. The little things? They’re really not so little after all.
